Okay kids, before you get all flared up, this isn't necessarily a list thread and I titled it "favorites" rather than best to avoid useless arguing. I know that's heartbreaking for some of you. I also know that some of us will think that some of the solos that others choose are weak and boring. However, it's all a matter of opinion and there are so many good ones that it may be difficult to decide for some of you. Again, it's not about who's a better guitarist. It's all about those solos that knock your dick/clit in the dirt or the ones that mellow you out and make you drift off, or the ones that grab hold of you and leave you in a state of awe.

Let me begin this thread with a few off the top of my head.

The solo from the song "Body Count" off the Cop Killer album. Ernie C delivers a truly underrated two part solo that has this tone of sadness that's preceded by a simple but very cool breakdown that goes with the song both musically and lyrically.

The live solo in the middle of "Suicide Solution" on the Tribute album is one of the best things I've ever heard Randy Rhoads play. It's long, but an excellent demonstration of why the dude was so good at what he did.

David Gilmours solo on "Time" from dark Side of the Moon is one of my all time favorites. I don't need to explain why he's so awesome, but that solo is absolutely untouchable. I'll never grow tired of it for as long as I live.

Solos aren't terribly common in my favourite music, but Drudkh had a very well done solo in Furrow of Gods that greatly improved the song.

Yep, the solo at the end of "Hearts Alive" is brilliant.

I also like Page's solo in "Ten Years Gone" by Zeppelin.

I also dig the solo in "Ghost of Perdition" quite a bit.

"Hard Lines, Sunken Cheeks" by Pantera has always been a personal fave.
I don't know, I guess solos are a bit of a nostalgia thing for me. I'm pretty sure I could air-solo to every track off Justice.
