Golden God Dave Mustaine has apparently contributed music to the upcoming Will Ferrel comedy Land of the Lost.. The thrash legend has released the following statement online:

"I'm going to be working on the new Will Ferrell movie, Land Of The Lost... and going to be putting some music on that. I went and saw the movie last week and it was hilarious. I loved it. I love Will Ferrell, think he's hilarious anyways. But yeah, we're getting ready to send some music up to these guys right now and you're listening to some in the background, and then I'll be heading up there this week to hopefully finish all this off with their guys. And man, how exciting for me."

Mr. Ferrell believes that including one of metal’s greatest guitarists in this project will serve as penance for “that fucking Bewitched shitshow.”

Peter Dolving, frontman for Swedish thrashers The Haunted, has made a post on his MySpace asking for donations from his fans. Dolving posted the following:

“I need funds to make a couple of projects actual reality.
No. 1. The Books. I need money to be able to sit down in peace and finish editing.
No. 2. The Music. I have come to the point where I am ready to start recording the O project and a drone/dance/ambient/rock project. Studio time = money.
No. 3 The Art. I have collected 15 years of really nasty stuff and I am about to put together an array of weird shit and kinky sex-art on everything from T-shirts to lampshades.
Also, I need hardware to step up my other design projects.
So help me out, donate what you can I will turn the money into strange art, it’s what I do. Thank you, Peter”

Revolver suggests that Mr. Dolving should look into a tin cup, cardboard sign, and open guitar case like the rest of us.

Finnish party-metallers Children of Bodom have been forced to drop off of their current tour with Lamb of God due to frontman Alexi Laiho’s broken shoulder. The band has is returning to Finland, and hopes that Alexi will be back in shape after a three-week break.
